In celebration of International Maritime Day, the CAIPIRINH3A Project was represented by Dr. George Skevis from CLEOS in an online expert discussion focusing on the future of sustainable maritime transport.
The VirtualTechForum, titled “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence,” brought together experts from several European research and innovation projects working on cleaner and more efficient solutions for the maritime sector. The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the challenges facing maritime transport and the technologies, policies, and collaborative approaches needed to support its transition towards lower-emission solutions.
Alongside Dr. Skevis representing CAIPIRINH3A, the session featured Fausto Gallucci from the APOLO project, Ajoy Ramalingam representing the MaritimeMET and MetNH3Energy projects, and Harsha Mysore from the Green Marine Project.
The event took place online on 24 September 2026, bringing together professionals and researchers interested in the development of cleaner maritime technologies. The participation of CAIPIRINH3A highlighted the project’s work on ammonia-based energy solutions and its relevance to the ongoing efforts to decarbonise maritime transport.
The discussion also demonstrated the value of collaboration between European projects addressing different aspects of the clean maritime transition, from research and technology development to policy implementation and practical applications.
