Dr. Svetlana Starikovskaia from CNRS delivered an oral presentation titled “Measurements of G-value at high electric fields in pulsed nanosecond discharge” at the International Conference on Phenomena in Ionized Gases (#ICPIG).
Since 1953, ICPIG has been a forum for the discussion of nearly all fields of plasma science, covering both modelling and experiments. Topics range from elementary processes, basic data and discharge physics (including transport and wall interactions) to applications such as low- and high-pressure thermal and non-thermal plasmas, fusion devices, atmospheric and stellar plasmas, surface processing, plasma medicine, environmental protection, pollution control, plasma aerodynamics, and plasma-assisted combustion.
Her presentation introduced a pioneering experimental procedure to measure the efficiency of species production in nanosecond pulsed plasma. This method, developed at the Laboratoire de Physique des Plasmas (LPP) and successfully tested on nitrogen, will be further advanced in 2025–2026 through a joint experiment with Lund University using NH₃ within the CAIPIRINH3A project.
